Pascal Adant - Biographie

né le 7 juillet 1971 à Soignies (Belgique)

Après avoir été photographe pour un magazine, Pascal Adant se tourne vers le cinéma et s'exerce sur une Bolex 16mm. Autodidacte, faute d'acteur et d'équipe technique, il tourne son premier film 35mm seul en animation. Son coup d'essai est une réussite : Dérapages, est sélectionné et primé à la Semaine internationale de la critique à Cannes. Fort de son expérience, il tourne par la suite pas moins de quinze courts métrages en fiction et en animation, souvent reconnus et appréciés dans de nombreux festivals. Il prépare actuellement son premier long métrage, tout en continuant de tourner des courts, comme La Fontaine fait son cinéma (2014), La Fontaine fait son documentaire (2015) et La Lune d’or (2016).

After working as a magazine photographer, Pascal Adant traded in his camera for a 16mm Bolex and started making films. Self-taught, and lacking both actors and film crew, he made his first 35mm film on his own using animation. It was a gamble that paid off: His Dérapages was selected for and won a prize at the International Critics' Week in Cannes. One thing led to another and he now has no less than fifteen short fiction and animated films to his name, shown and acclaimed at many film festivals. His is currently working on his first full-length film while continuing to make short films.
